Foods Great and U get alot.
Excellent food and great staff. Really enjoy going there.
I don't get this place at all. I've tried it twice (the second time was because of other people) and I will NEVER do so again. I'm honestly amazed that it stays in business since there are two other restaurants in Laurelville that are very good.First off, who in the heck can screw up sausage gravy? It was the most bland gravy I've ever had in my LIFE. Ignoring the fact that it was served stone cold. My over easy egg was hard cooked and the coffee just wasn't that good. It tasted as if it were watered down cheap coffee. The service was attentive, but the food was so poor it really didn't help.I have to say, that they do have a bunch of regulars. I see the same cars there on my way to one of the better restaurants, but it can't be because of their breakfasts or coffee.
Good old small town cooking, friendly service, they will keep your coffee full !!!
I have eaten here my whole life and its always good food and low prices. Love it. No better meal for your money.
Really good food! Great atmosphere!
Awesome place. Small town. Great prices ! Feels like home.
Nice small cafe in a nice small town. Food was great and the price was right. The pancakes are amazing.
An exellent place to eat! Awesome home cooking and friendly service in a small town atmosphere!
The hot chocolate with fries tasted amazing and is 1 of the best light meal options for vegetarians
Service and food were great
I always come here with my Grams once a week to have lunch with her to get her out of the house. Or when I go hiking I stop by. It's good food but the pie is where it's at. Nice place in a quiet town. Good service, waitresses are always on the ball and friendly. Good price.
Fast an friendly service. Great food
Great service and LARGE portions. Great food as well.
Love the food and not to many restaurants like this anymore!
I loved there chicken sandwich. I haven't really ordered much there
Good food, homey atmosphere
Service was amazing! So friendly and polite! Food was pretty good. Great atmosphere! Next time I'm in town, I will for sure be in!!
Good food friendly service
Different from past years, most be different owners. One of the waitress was in a high hurry all the time but didn't do anything, our waitress was efficient. Food not all that, miss the old restaurant
The Village Cafe was highly recommended by Get Away cabins. They totally lived up to the hype and then some. If you like reasonably priced extremely good and filling, diner, mom and pop food, you will love this place. If you're in the area you must stop in it would be foolish not to. Don't miss it!
The food was great. The service was also very good. Nice friendly people. Price was VERY inexpensive.
Great food, low prices. Home style cooking. Parking lot sucks. Muddy with Chuck holes.
The food at this location was quite tasty, and the tea was very well balanced. The pancakes are the size of a small child, so be cautious when ordering. The reason for the four stars is that the decor and such could be seriously updated. It wasn't very inviting on the outside and for someone like us who were just visiting, we almost turned around. We're glad we didn't, though.
Waited almost an hour for our food and then left. All we ordered were 2 cheeseburgers and fries. Place wasnt even busy.
Very popular with the tourist has a very Mayberry feel to it excellent homemade pies
Good local diner. Plenty of food and decent price.
My friend and I stopped in while vacationing at Tar Hollow State Park. We came into town to fill upthe gas tank first. We saw the cafe across for the gas station. So glad we stopped in for dinner. I had a sloppy joe with mashed potatoes/gravy and corn. My food was wonderful. Good home cooking. My friend had fried shrimp and pasta salad with French fries. She liked hers as well. Our service was prompt and personable. We liked it so much we came back in the morning for breakfast! Best omelettes and the home fries were da bomb! When we come again we will definitely return!
Coney dog, more like phoney dog, this boomer cafe was not only smelly but unappetizing
Good food at very low prices. Small town friendliness.
Breakfast is good, the biscuits and gravy, really good. Lunch specials every day.
Loved it. Have been searching for a new hangout. Found it! Worth the 40 minute drive.
This is a small town cafe. We decided to tryout their dinner selection after visiting Hocking Hills. I had ordered the Chicken Platter with mashed potatoes. I ate the mashed potatoes first. Then I took a bite of the chicken and spit it back out onto my plate. It was COLD! I mean freezing. I figured it my just be that piece of chicken but I was wrong as I opened up another piece it was cold as well. I had my daughter verify by touching the inside of the second one. I told the waitress about this issue and let her know that I had spit it out and that my daughter even touched it to verify she took the plate back to the kitchen. A few moments later they bring me the same dirty plate with the same pieces of chicken that I had bitten into and ripped open. Once everyone was done eating I let the cashier know if the issue and they still charge me for my food. I wasn't very happy to say the least.
Great service and big helpings of food.
Reasonably good food at an unbelievably cheap price.
Best restaurant in Laurelville hands down! If you come to town you must eat here.
Friendly people, and very good food and alot for your money.
Very good food. Friendly staff
Nice little diner. Traditional home style diner food. Service was quick and friendly. We were here for breakfast but are thinking about stopping back by for some homemade pie.
Fantastic breakfasts. Homemade biscuits and gravy, eggs, omlets, great bacon. .. everything we tried was wonderful. And the prices are great. I would be 50 pounds heavier if we lived closer.
Very good food and waitress
I grew up frequenting this restaurant. The food and family atmosphere have always impressed!
Great food, great service. Best mashed potatoes and gravy! I asked for extra so I wouldn't have to share with my friends and we got an extra serving, no charge. Amazing huge desserts too. We walked out happy and full and didn't spend very much. We'll be back! In fact we might come back to the area just to eat there again!
Always great food
I work for good hands, have always treated us with the most upmost respect. Great food, service, and prices.
I don't know if my experience is normal but I went there today and had roasted turkey dinner which was one of the specials and the turkey came in oval shaped formed meat and they were out of sweet potatoes and they offered mashed potatoes and gravy but the gravy was a very odd bright yellow color and sort of a gelled type gravy. Not like any chicken or turkey gravy I had ever seen. Maybe it came straight of a can just like the green beans did, they had no seasoning at all. The worst part of the meal was the very dry and hard dressing. I understand dressing having the cooked edge from the pan but this was overly hard and they gave me mostly edge pieces. The bit that was not hard was very dry. I cannot speak for the other menu items but I would think twice before ordering the special.
My review of Village Cafe is that being a 1st timer here with my mother, I myself experienced a wonderful country atmosphere where you see the old timers sitting having a cup of coffee and telling each other about their crops or a ballgame that they watched the night before. It brought a lot of memories back of my childhood & the diner my papaw would take me to as a child, You just don't see these kind of places that have a Mayberry kind of feel to them any more, Our service was impressively splendid, Biscuits and Gravy was so good just like grandma's, The best french toast and big portion that will fill a hungry man up on Saturday morning. So, If you're in the area you must stop in & enjoy some of that country home cooking. Hat's off to Villiage Cafe & this is my 5 star Review.
Great food. Nice people!
Very nice and clean place to take your family to eat. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The bonus...the food is great and u get well what you pay for....i give it 5 stars😊
Decent service very poor breakfast, orderd hashbrowns were barely cooked, and egg and cheese sandwiches that we poorly put together, cute diner wouldn't recommend.
Wont go back after today.. I always loved their breakfast menu especially because it all day everyday except saturday or sunday. I called to place an order today and asked for a large biscuit and gravy for my husband and the man on the phone had to ask the cook if they were still serving breakfast foods. I heard the cook say are you serious?!. After that I left the order as it was for my husband and kids and didnt order for myself. Usually get the stack but after that nope I'm done. If you dont want to cook breakfast all day dont serve all day or if you want to complain make sure the customers cant hear you.
